in November the wind in Donegal was relentless

and it rains a lot, on the Inishowen Peninsula

but Northern Donegal feels like the edge of the world

it is of course the most northerly point on this island

at 55.38º north, you can see the Northern Lights in the right conditions

our cottage was cosy and dinky

in beautiful Trawbreaga Bay:

(Granda’s Cottage, Doagh Island)

between the showers, and despite the howling winds, the winter light cast everything in gold

Stunning…I’ve never been to that part of the world but it looks beautiful 🙂
