there’s a long rusty ladder
that can be quite intimidating the first time you use it
at this swimming spot on the Great South Wall
– Poolbeg –
people (men) first officially bathed here in 1898
when it was
“the Poolbeg Bathers’ Association”
there are also colourful seaside meadows full of whatever this is (ragwort? catmint?) …
