Wicklow Coast, one day in April

we walked the cliff path above Glen beach in April

Wicklow was at its very best

the Irish sea improbable shades of turquoise that changed with the angle

the kind of Spring day that makes people say ‘you could be anywhere’

meaning anywhere but Ireland

then on to Magheramore, serene and secret outside of summer

and that’s a perfect spring day on the Irish coast

with those very soft, painterly colours that I don’t think you get just ‘anywhere’
