Robins are sweet looking alright,

but I didn’t know that a robin’s red breast 

is used only to defend its territory, never for ‘romance’…

the colour red triggers the instinct for fighting

and a robin will attack anything with red feathers (even a toy bird, apparently) to defend its patch
