Lockdown story: Fairy tale in old bohemia

5 km lockdown, in Crumlin

took my mind back to an old Czech city, Telč

unlike Crumlin, it’s a dreamscape

Telč, Czech Republic – UNESCO World Heritage Site

a baroque layer cake

Telč, Czech Republic, border of Bohemia and Moravia

and Český Krumlov, a couple of hours away

where there is a garret full of old marionettes

Marionette Museum, Latrán č.6, Český Krumlov

like the forgotten attic of a master puppet maker

they swing from the rafters

Telč, southern Czech Republic

marionettes – not quite of this world but with a quality that is very human

Telč

uncanny

Telč

two hundred of them hang from the beams of St Jobst Church

in old Český Krumlov, deepest Bohemia
